Hot Weather
HOT WEATHER: Heat can be extremely dangerous for bunnies as they cannot regulate body temperature.USFUL IDEAS.. *Add rock sulphur to drinking water *Adhesive vinyl tiles bases of hutches *Ceramic tile from freezer for them to lay on *Ice pack or frozen bottle of water wrapped in a towel for bunny to lay against *Fans/air conditioning units *Place hutches & runs in the shade *Frozen fruit, veg or herbs done in an ice cube tray.
Winter Weather
*Plenty of bedding, straw & hay for insulation *Add a cardboard box/travel carrier filled with straw for insulation *Snugglesafe heat pads can be used for extra warmth(microwavable) *Hutches can be wrapped in foil backed bubble wrap, blankets, sleeping bags, quilts *Clear perspex to cover mesh doors (drill in air holes), lets light in, van serin/out & keeps wind out *keep hutches raised off the floor(eg. Bricks) *Topped with waterproof covers such as tarpaulin, to keep warmth in/draughs out or even better use clear plastic sheeting to allow light through *Insulated water bottle covers/thermal socks, with bubblewrap & foil underneath (check for frozen nozzels) *Sheltered area, unused gatage/shed *Ping pong ball in water bowls to help stop water from freezing & placed on snugglesafe heat pad.
FIREWORKS
FIreworks can really frighten bunnies, so hear is a few tips....*Blankets over hutches/cages & curtains drawn to block out flashes *Lights, tv, radio on to help block flashes & sounds *Lots of bedding to hide under *Toys & treats to help occupy.
